Activity 

Mixing and squishing paint with fingers on fur/textured fabric. (for those not liking to get fingers dirty use glue sticks or another blunt rounded tool

Before offering to the children, cut out and assemble the basic sheep first.:-

You will Need
Stiff card, fur fabric, glue, paper
Children will need
Various coloured paint, (possibly - droppers/syringes so that the child can put their own paint on)

1. Print off sheep body template and cut out required number in stiff card.
2. Fold in half to allow sheep to stand up 
3. Print off the head and photocopy/trace onto paper and cut out. The head can be stuck onto the body now or you could let the child decide where they think it should go during the activity (always an interesting outcome!).
4. Cut out a circle of fur fabric to fit inside the body area  ( you could vary the textures of fabrics as a comparison) and glue it onto the sheep body whilst it is in standing position.

Place the body flattened on the surface (stand later once craft has been finished) and allow the individual child to choose which colours of paint they would like to be ‘blobbed’ onto the fabric of their sheep (point out that sheep have Wool!).

Then encourage the children to mix the paints together with their fingers whilst watching what happens to the colours as they mingle together.

Discuss how it feels eg, cold, wet, slippery, and smooth. 

Comment on how the sheep may think its wool feels.
