This site is sponsored by Visa, with the aim of  teaching children to use  money in everyday life. The site covers the whole age spectrum, but has a section devoted to early years. All the activities and examples are in dollars so if you want pounds you will have to make your own, but the principles are the same.
lil' fingers storybooks
Lil' Fingers storybooks are animated stories for parents to read with their kids. Stories are presented with large text and big buttons for little fingers to click on.

This is the first site I have visited based in Mauritius, it's amazing how you can just pop around the world! This site is part of the Upto10 group of sites (see our educational resources page) and contains over 1,000 links to sites suitable for kids aged up to 10. Over 5,000 sites have been visited personally by Vish, the Editor, and the best selected here, a great added feature is that you can also rate the sites yourself.

national association for primary education
UK association which campaigns for high quality education for children from birth to 13 years, currently has over 200,000 members including parents, teachers, school governors etc.
pre-school learning alliance
This is the website of the pre-dominant pre-school charity. The PLA offers a voice to all registered pre-schools and campaigns on many  issues affecting pre-school education. It also sells resources and offers tailored insurance.
national family daycare association of australia
Want to know how childcare is organised 'down under' ? Then this is the site for you. The site contains excellent information about the way in which childcare is organised in Australia.

Leighton buzzard childminding association
Provides support and information to both childminders and parents, mainly in the local area, but through the website provides information and answer queries from a much wider area. A lot of hard work has obviously gone into developing and keeping this site up to date. The amount of information and practical help is excellent, if you are a childminder this site is a must see !!! 
westfield day nursery
This site won an BECTa award a few years ago, and it is excellent. There is plenty of information about the school including its OFSTED report and its policies and also some activity ideas and funstuff for kids to do. Go and have a look.
roseanne's childminding service
Another example of an excellent individual site. Roseanne Podmore is a registered childminder who lives near Bolton in the North West of England. Roseanne's site aims to inform parents of her childcare service and to help other childcare professionals with information and advice.

nuttinbutkids
A literal plethora of resources which teachers can use in early years curriculum planning. It is an American site but there is so much here that you will be unlucky if you don't find something you can use. Activities, crafts and rhymes.
boowa and kwala's world
Part of the UpTo10 group of sites, this site has been specially designed for children aged upto 6. It is bright, has terrific fun graphics, and some great songs (try Happy Birthday, don't forget to write your name), kids will love it!! Brilliant for ICT, with simple link buttons to navigate around the site, just point and click. And, even better, once you have visited you can use it off-line,. I thought it was great, but then I am just a big kid at heart!!

This site has been set up by I CAN, Afasic and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists as the first stop on-line for parents wanting information on children's speech and language difficulties. With 1 in 10 children suffering from some form of communication difficulty, it is vital that children get the right help as early as possible in the pre-school years. This is obviously a key concern for parents of young children and before Talking Point it was very difficult for them to get the right information and support.
